I try and keep the online information current for this class, but please keep in mind that assignments given out in class will always take precedence over what is posted online. This web site is not meant to replace what takes place in the classroom.
Theory 3B is a continuation of 3A and will focus on the second half of the Benward text. Topics will include part-writing, species counterpoint, secondary function chords, seventh chords, modulation, harmonic progressions and formal analysis.
Video Review – Final Exam – Note: The resolution isn’t the greatest because I had to keep the file size small. It should be fine as long as you don’t view it full screen on a big monitor.
Mistakes in the video:
- At 7:30 and 7:45 I say Db, but the note is a D natural.
- At 19:30, the Dmaj7 chord should have a C# – A major has 3 sharps.
- At 39:00, the A7 chord should have an E natural otherwise the triad isn’t major.
