Opening Night – Hadleigh Adams Sings Mahler

Bass-baritone Hadleigh Adams performs Gustav Mahler’s Rückert Lieder and Delphi Trio performs Paul Juon’s Episodes Concertantes, Op. 45. The concert also features Clark Suprynowicz’s Red States, Blue States and Edward Elgar’s In the South. Opening night is sponsored, in part, by Wells Fargo Bank.

Lost Romantic Symphonies

Friday, November 18, 2016, 8 pm

Violinist Kelly Hall-Tompkins will perform the U.S. premiere of Siegfried Matthus’ new violin concerto, Dream of a Summer Night, along with John Williams’ Theme from Schindler’s List and a selection from Fiddler on the Roof. The program also includes Joachim Raff’s rarely performed Symphony No. 3 and the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, back from their performing tour of Cuba, will join the Symphony for George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture. The concert is sponsored by The Grubb Company
